Metal Fabricator / Welder
Location: Charlotte, NC 28208
Job Type: Temp to perm after 4.5 months
Hours: 7:30am-5pm M-F and some Saturday work
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Welder / Metal Fabricator to join our team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with TIG and MIG welding processes and a solid background working with galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum materials. Experience operating a Yamazaki Mazak Super Turbo-X510 Mk2 CO2 laser system is highly preferred. CNC press brake experience is a plus.
This position requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to produce high-quality fabrication work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform TIG and MIG welding on galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum materials
- Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications
- Operate and maintain welding equipment safely and efficiently
- Set up and operate a Yamazaki Mazak Super Turbo-X510 MK2 CO2 CNC laser system (preferred)
- Assist with or operate CNC press brake equipment (if experienced)
- Grind, finish, and inspect completed weldments to ensure quality standards
- Measure and verify dimensions to meet production tolerances
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines
Qualifications
- 3+ years of welding and metal fabrication experience preferred
- Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding
- Experience working with galvanized, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
- Experience operating a Yamazaki Mazak Super Turbo-X510 Mk2 CO2 laser system (strongly preferred)
- CNC press brake experience is a plus
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Preferred Skills
- CNC Laser cutting setup and programming knowledge
- CNC brake setup and tooling adjustments
- Basic fabrication math skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Tube bending experience
- Shear operation experience
- Laser welding experience
- Plastic fabrication skills are a plus
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
