Pay: $22/hr to $25/hr

Job Description

The General Assembler plays a key role in building larger equipment units by assembling a wide range of components and subassemblies. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to accurately read measuring tools and engineering blueprints. You may also operate fabrication machinery such as band saws, press brakes, and plate rollers to support production needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble a wide range of parts and subassemblies used in the construction of larger equipment units.
  • Use hand tools and air-powered tools safely and efficiently to perform mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Read and interpret tape measures and engineering blueprints to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication.
  • Operate fabrication equipment such as band saws, press brakes, plate rollers, and basic CNC machinery as needed.
  • Perform fabrication-related tasks including cutting, forming, and preparing materials according to specifications.
  • Apply knowledge of angles, tooling, and cutting techniques commonly used in construction and fabrication trades.
  • Assist with basic electrical and wiring tasks, including installation of components when required.
  • Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area in a large manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and quality standards.
  • Work overtime when needed to support production demands, including extended shifts and additional weekly hours.

Essential Skills

  • At least 6 months of assembly experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and apply measurements in daily work.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for mechanical assembly.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction or related trades.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on mechanical assembly or mechanic experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
  • Understanding of angles, tooling, and cutting methods used in construction and fabrication.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime when required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with electrical assembly is highly preferred.
  • Bg in fabrication, including MIG welding, plasma cutting, and metal fabrication, is a plus.
  • Experience operating press brakes, shears, band saws, plate rollers, and basic CNC equipment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with wiring, installation of engines, hydraulic components, hoses, and electrical components is beneficial.
  • Comfort working with electronics and electrical systems in an assembly environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Work Environment

This role is based in a large manufacturing environment that includes both indoor and outdoor work areas. Some sections of the facility are air-conditioned, while most areas are not, so you should be comfortable working in varying temperature conditions. The schedule typically runs Monday through Friday on a 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. shift, with potential for extended hours from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 4:00–5:00 p.m. and up to 10 additional hours per week, depending on production needs. You will work around heavy machinery and fabrication equipment such as band saws, press brakes, plate rollers, and basic CNC machines. The required attire includes steel-toe footwear, work pants or jeans, and a t-shirt suitable for a manufacturing and fabrication setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
