Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license and certification for practice in Texas
- Previous experience with school-based occupational therapy strongly preferred
- Comfortable working with elementary-aged students and tailoring interventions for their developmental stages
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills for teamwork with educators, families, and other specialists
- Organized, reliable, and positive approach to addressing diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and create individualized therapy plans for students with occupational therapy needs
- Deliver direct therapy sessions-both one-on-one and small group-focusing on fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care, and classroom participation
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student goals and facilitate smooth classroom integration
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, progress reports, and service delivery in compliance with school and state requirements
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute professional insights for student success
- Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices in school-based occupational therapy
