JOB PURPOSE
Hard-working individual joins a newly formed production team dedicated to manufacturing primers for small arms ammunition. Employees accurately load and unloads plates with components, one being explosive, and processes those plates to assemble and then package and deliver primers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safe Operation Always:
- Learns and applies safety principles for explosive operations.
- Understands and follows safety practices.
- Understands and follows process instructions.
- Participates in and successfully completes all safety, work, and other training sessions.
Accuracy and Careful Attention to Detail:
- Fills correct component quantities and orientation.
- Manipulates tooling to achieve proper assembly of components.
- Operates presses.
Quality Assurance:
- Inspects and verifies that each subassembly or tool stack is correct to maintain quality and consistency.
- Notifies trainer or supervisor quickly of problems, concerns, or mistakes.
- Suggests changes to processes and procedures to improve safety and productivity.
Cleanliness
- Keeps workstation organized and free from unnecessary items and clutter.
- Keeps workstation clear of loose parts.
- Disposes scrap material according to procedures.
- Cleans work area and tooling at regular intervals.
- Participates in all shift-end cleaning.
- Participates in cleaning of common areas.
Adheres to all company safety, production, and workforce policies.
Performs all other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Is at least 21 years of age.
- Acquires a BATFE-issued Employee Possessor Letter of Clearance (employer will assist with application).
- Concentrates and stays on task for extended periods of time.
- Stands for extended periods of time.
- Has good hand-eye coordination.
- Works well with team members.
- Asks questions to seek instruction.
- Prior manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required.
- Prior knowledge of common chemicals, or experience with common chemicals, is preferred, but not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- There are two mid-shift and one meal break.
- The work area is air conditioned indoors with elevated humidity.
- Wet floors are common from frequent washing and for humidification.
- There are security protocols and access restrictions.
- Some workstations can be adjusted for personal preference, such as height.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Activities require various amounts and kinds of repetitive movement, mostly by hand and arm.
- Activities mostly require extended periods of standing; infrequently there will be times of extended sitting.
- There will be occasional lifting from 5 to 50 pounds.
