Kandel Transport, a Nagle Companies Corp, is a regional and long haul OTR contract motor carrier based near Akron, OH. Most of our customers are manufacturers of frozen foods, dairy products, and fruit flavorings, as well as clothing and retail in our dry van division. This includes most of the Great Lake States and New England, as well as Montreal and Toronto.

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate transportation activities efficiently and ensure seamless delivery operations that is eager to learn new systems, software and tools as our operation grows. In this vital role, you will serve as the communication hub between drivers, clients, and warehouse teams, utilizing advanced transportation management systems and GPS technology to optimize routes and schedules. Your energetic approach will help maintain smooth logistics workflows, support supply chain efficiency, and uphold high standards of customer service while adhering to safety standards. Duties

• Coordinate and schedule freight pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems
• Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely deliveries
• Monitor fleet performance, maintenance schedules, and compliance (DOT/HOS regulations)
• Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal teams while maintaining professional phone etiquette
• Manage dispatching operations for freight movement
• Troubleshoot day-to-day driver and vehicle issues
• Analyze transportation data to identify inefficiencies or delays, proposing solutions to improve overall supply chain performance

Skills

• Familiarity with logistics concepts including freight coordination, shipping & receiving, and fleet management
• Comfortable with computers, technology, and willingness to learn new systems
• Excellent analysis skills for troubleshooting routing issues or delays in real-time
• Strong & effective communication skills for coordinating with drivers, clients, and internal teams
• Basic typing skills for quick documentation updates during dispatching activities
• Knowledge of DOT compliance and regulations is a plus.
• Problem solving with the ability to stay clam under pressure

Pay: $47,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
