Job Summary:
Research Assistant II will perform administrative and research support for faculty, and research and training activities within the Nutrition and Global Health Program. Responsibilities include supporting project implementation, managing calendars, and coordinating travel arrangements that are critical to the program’s success. Our research program seeks to advance knowledge related to global health with a focus on nutrition and maternal, child, and adolescent health.
Job-Specific Responsibilities:
Typical Duties include:
Provides a wide range of administrative support to research and training programs, including composing and editing letters, presentations, and standard operating procedures.
Supports day-to-day research activities across multiple projects, including conducting literature reviews, assisting with data management and entry, drafting research summaries and reports, and supporting project coordination and documentation.
Serves as the program’s data and compliance coordinator, including assisting with IRB and other regulatory submissions, inputting surveys and data collection tools into REDCap or Qualtrics, tracking program-related publications and similar documents.
Supports program communications, including drafting content for the program’s website, social media channels, newsletters, and blog posts.
Assists in the preparation of research or training grant applications, including contributing to proposal development, biosketches, and other supporting documents.
Manages complex calendars, arranging meetings, seminars, appointments, and travel logistics.
Contributes to NGH’s goals by performing related duties as required.
PLEASE NOTE: This position has a term end date of one year from date of hire, with the possibility for extension. This position may include limited travel for short durations.

Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of relevant experience is required; a combination of education and experience may be considered
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree
Experience with IRB and regulatory applications is desirable
Experience with Microsoft suite
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience prioritizing work across multiple projects with competing deadlines
Experience working independently with minimal supervision
Experience handling complex and confidential information with discretion
Interest in research and training related to global nutrition and health
Appointment End Date: One year from date of hire
Standard Hours/Schedule: 35 hours per week

Work Format Details
This position has been determined by school or unit leaders that some of the duties and responsibilities can be effectively performed at a non-Harvard location. The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based upon operational needs. When not working at a Harvard or Harvard-designated location, employees in hybrid positions must work in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University’s Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts . Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
