Position Overview
We're a food production manufacturer that is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation of production and facility equipment. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, and supporting continuous manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate contributes to process improvements, maintains accurate maintenance records, and follows safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on production machinery and facility systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including motors, drives, control circuits, PLCs and sensors.
- Service mechanical components such as gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, couplings, and other rotating equipment; perform alignments and adjustments.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, valves, actuators and related components.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS; create and update work orders, maintenance logs, and parts usage records.
- Install, align, and commission new equipment and perform tests and calibrations to ensure correct operation.
- Manage inventory of critical spare parts and recommend procurement to minimize production impact.
- Follow and promote safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, and participate in safety audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; experience with both electrical and mechanical systems highly desired.
- Proven troubleshooting skills with electrical systems (motors, VFDs, PLCs), mechanical systems (bearings, belts, gearboxes), and fluid power (pneumatics/hydraulics).
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and preventive maintenance programs.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments; experience with calibration and test equipment.
