Position Summ
aryReporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Corporate Controller serves as a key member of the Finance leadership team and is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations across multiple legal entities. This role ensures the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and the implementation of strong internal controls that safeguard organizational asse
ts.
The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on accounting leader with extensive experience managing complex financial operations, leading high-performing teams, and supporting executive decision-making within a nonprofit, healthcare, or multi-entity environm
ent.
Key Responsibil
- itiesLead all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across multiple legal enti
- ties.Direct the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and management rep
- orts.Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, claims accounting, and cash manage
- ment.Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, grant and funding guidelines, and organizational poli
- cies.Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures that protect organizational assets and improve operational effici
- ency.Manage the annual external financial statement audit, Single Audit (as applicable), and all funding agency au
- dits.Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improve
- ment.Partner with the CFO and executive leadership on financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and strategic initiat
- ives.Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes through automation, process improvements, and best pract
- ices.Support organizational growth by providing financial analysis and recommendations that inform executive decision-ma
king.
Qualific
- ationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance req
- uired.Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration pref
- erred.CPA license strongly pref
- erred.Progressive accounting leadership experience, including management of complex, multi-entity financial opera
- tions.Experience in nonprofit healthcare, healthcare services, or other regulated industries is highly desi
- rable.Thorough knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting, and audit manag
- ement.Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and communication s
- kills.Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and build strong cross-functional relation
- ships.Proficiency with ERP and financial management systems, along with advanced Microsoft Excel s
kills.
