Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Anduril's Electronic Warfare (EW) division builds next-generation electronic warfare platforms — hardware-enabled, software-defined systems operating at scale in contested environments. The team recently secured an $85M contract (first tranche of $125M) awarded in under 24 hours from funding, delivered 30 novel system configurations into active combat in under a week, and earned a unanimous fielding recommendation from government evaluators. Production is scaling from hundreds to thousands of units, and the software challenges are scaling with it.
We are building a new Mission Software Engineering (MSE) team to own the full software lifecycle — development, integration, deployment, sustainment, and customer success. This team needs experienced engineers who can take ownership of critical systems and drive technical decisions in a high-stakes, fast-moving environment.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for Senior Mission Software Engineers who bring deep expertise in at least one area and the ability to contribute across several. The MSE team's scope is broad: embedded software and hardware interfaces, backend services and data pipelines, deployment and configuration management, integration with the Anduril Lattice ecosystem, and operator-facing applications. You might spike in one of these — what matters is that you can operate independently, make sound architectural decisions, and drive work to completion across team boundaries.
At this level, you'll be expected to own significant technical areas, influence the team's engineering practices, mentor junior engineers, and interface directly with customers and operators to ensure our software meets the mission.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Own and drive the technical direction for one or more critical areas of the EW software stack
Architect and implement solutions that work reliably in production, at scale, and in contested operational environments
Debug complex cross-system issues spanning embedded software, networking, applications, and deployed infrastructure
Develop high-performance software — whether that's numerical algorithms for RF data, deployment automation, Lattice integration services, or operator tools
Drive engineering quality through architectural review, code review, testing strategy, and operational practices
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, raising the bar for the team's technical capabilities
Work directly with customers and operators to understand mission requirements and translate them into engineering priorities
Collaborate with embedded software, DSP/RFML, systems architecture, and growth teams
Support field deployments, integration events, and customer engagements
Contribute to building the MSE team's culture, processes, and technical standards from the ground up
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
7+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong proficiency in at least two of: Haskell, Rust, C++, Go, TypeScript
Deep expertise in at least one of the following areas:
Embedded systems, real-time systems, or hardware/software interfaces
Backend services, distributed systems, or data infrastructure
Deployment systems, CI/CD, configuration management, or infrastructure-as-code
Systems integration, networking, or system-of-systems architecture
Experience with Linux systems at a production level (administration, debugging, performance)
Track record of owning and shipping complex software in a high-stakes or fast-moving environment
Ability to work independently and drive technical decisions with minimal oversight
Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with customers
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance
Willingness to travel up to 30%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Haskell and/or Rust in production environments
Experience with electronic warfare, software-defined radio, or RF systems
Familiarity with Nix/NixOS for deterministic builds and system configuration
Experience with FPGA development (Verilog, VHDL), especially Xilinx
Experience with MATLAB and C code generation
Experience with containerized deployments (Kubernetes, Docker) in edge or operational environments
Experience building engineering teams or functions from …
