Position Overview
Cornerstone Learning Community is seeking flexible, dependable, and enthusiastic Substitute Teachers to support classroom instruction in the absence of regular teaching staff. This role ensures continuity of learning and maintains a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
Substitute Teachers play an important role in upholding classroom expectations, following lesson plans provided by the lead teacher, and supporting students in a respectful and engaging manner. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and are comfortable stepping into a variety of classroom settings.
Key Responsibilities
The following is a subset of responsibilities and is not inclusive of all duties:
Implement lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher
Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive classroom environment
Manage classroom behavior in alignment with school expectations and policies
Support student learning by answering questions and facilitating assigned activities
Take attendance and follow daily school procedures
Ensure continuity of instruction during teacher absences
Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, recess, lunch, and other settings as needed
Communicate relevant classroom information to the regular teacher upon return
Follow all school policies, procedures, and emergency protocols
Maintain professionalism in all interactions with students, staff, and families
Support school culture and contribute to a respectful learning environment
