Custodian – Secondary Bldg Eng

Job Description

Responsible for the maintenance, cleaning and upkeep of the buildings and grounds, including classrooms, common areas and play fields. Responsible for monitoring and performing required inspections for various systems within the building. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.

  • Frequent lifting five (5) to fifty (50) pounds
  • Occasional lifting fifty (50) to one hundred (100) pounds
  • Frequent extensive walking, bending, standing, reaching, stooping
  • Occasional climbing, kneeling, squatting

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and execute daily work orders as needed.
  • Assist in the implementation of energy management strategies as required.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of facility operations including electrical, gas/water controls and heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems and related equipment.
  • Assist all emergency operations personnel as required.
  • Set up building facilities related to district meetings, special occasions, and events.
  • Remove snow and ice from walkways and play areas as required.
  • Work with, monitor and train effective use of cleaning and restorative materials, equipment and cleaning methods.
  • Oversee the overall cleanliness, maintenance and sanitation of the facility, grounds and equipment, maintaining a high standard of safety and efficiency.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Monitor the work of district and contract cleaning services and report concerns in expected levels of performance to the area manager; evaluate district personnel as required.
  • Inspect building, grounds and equipment to determine repair and maintenance needs.

Scheduled Hours Per Week: 40 FTE: 1.00 Approx Scheduled Days Per Year: 260 Work Days (260 days indicates a year‑round position. Time off or off‑track days are then granted based on the position. Any exceptions to the normal off‑track time will be noted in the additional position details section above, as scheduled work days.) Minimum Hire Rate: $23.74 USD Hourly Maximum Hire Rate: $30.79 USD Hourly Full Salary Range: $23.74 USD – $37.83 USD Hourly
