Bilingual Call Center Representative
Location: Bellaire, TX
Pay Rate: Starting at $20.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Dean's Professional Services is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Bilingual Call Center Representative to support a leading healthcare organization in Bellaire, TX. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in a fast-paced call center environment and are passionate about delivering exceptional service to health plan members and providers. As the first point of contact, you will assist with eligibility, benefits, authorizations, claims, referrals, appointment scheduling, and issue resolution while ensuring an outstanding customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for health plan members and providers, responding to inquiries regarding eligibility, benefits, authorizations, claims, referrals, and other healthcare services
- Investigate and resolve member and provider questions by researching information across multiple systems and collaborating with internal departments
- Advocate for members and providers by facilitating timely resolution of concerns and ensuring a positive customer experience
- Assist members with appointment scheduling and navigation of healthcare resources
- Accurately document all customer interactions, case details, and resolutions in EPIC, MACESS, or other applicable systems
- Complete assigned work queues and after-hours call center notifications within established service standards
- Verify caller identity and maintain strict HIPAA compliance before discussing protected health information (PHI)
- Identify issues requiring escalation and communicate concerns to leadership for prompt resolution
- Support daily call center operations while consistently meeting quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction goals
- Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and excellent communication during every customer interaction
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum one (1) year of customer service experience in a managed care, Medicaid, insurance, or healthcare call center environment required
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
- Medicaid experience required
- Knowledge of managed care, health insurance, claims, referrals, and authorizations preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Strong verbal communication, active listening, and customer service skills
- Excellent problem-solving, multitasking, and organizational abilities
- General computer proficiency with the ability to type at least 35 words per minute
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced call center environment
