We are seeking a dedicated and energetic full-time Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! In this role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by performing professional dental cleanings, assessments, and preventative treatments. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health while ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. The ideal candidate will be passionate about dentistry, possess excellent communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You will see patients from 9 am through 5pm Monday through Thursday.
Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, perio charting, and current dental conditions
Take dental X-rays using Nomad and be comfortable performing and reviewing iTero scans with patients as part of wellness scanninng. Intraoral photos of soft and hard tissue conditions are critical as well
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong dental health. Be comfortable delivering local anesthesia as needed, placing fluoride varnish, and Curodont treatment when appropriate. Laser certification is a plus
As we are a small team, you may need to step in to help break down rooms, seat patients, scan for NGs, etc during down time
Maintain accurate and detailed electronic health records (EHR) using Open Dental. Excellent note taking is a must
Collaborate with dentists and team members to ensure comprehensive patient care and efficient office operations
You are generally responsible for the break down of your own operatory and your dental instruments
You are expected to present your patient to the doctor and point out areas of hard and soft tissue concern
Qualifications
Valid DC license as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting
Proven experience working in general dentistry 3-5 years
Proficiency in Open Dental (or ability to learn quickly) is required
Training in iTero or other intraoral scanning is required
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment operation
Expertise in infection prevention practices, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations including pediatrics
Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety protocols
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management, dental coding, and documentation review processes
