Summary/Objective Responsible for providing the application requirements of the location in compliance with state and federal regulations and being responsive and courteous to customers at all times . The Applicator is primarily responsible for providing quality application services to customers where the individual’s own personality and image is important in backing up and servicing the sale.
Essential Functions
Follow all safety regulations and guidelines.
Handle and store hazardous materials (pesticides, fertilizers, chemicals) in compliance with safety regulations
Use appropriate PPE (gloves, goggles, protective clothing) when working with hazardous materials
Provides quality application services to customers in a safe and timely manner
Maintains a quality and professional image with customers and is responsive to their needs
Obtains/maintains DOT commercial driver’s license (CDL) and registration, complies with state and federal requirements and annual updates
Obtains/maintains state commercial A pplicator certification and stays current with requirements
Performs daily inspection of equipment prior to field applications and post application inspections
Maintains safety equipment in optimum condition in the applicator equipment and immediate work area ; follows all safety regulations and guidelines
Applies the correct labeling, decals and DOT numbers to equipment and tanks
Maintains the appropriate applicator and equipment logs and ensures they are kept up to date
Performs the required preventive maintenance program recommended for the equipment
Complies with regulatory guidelines in tank mixing, rinsing, and washing down both in the field and at the plant
Works with and assists other employees with various duties when not actively driving, as assigned by the supervisor. This may include filling orders, inventory, driving forklift, general equipment maintenance, grounds work, housekeeping, etc.

Required Qualifications
Valid driver’s license: must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy.
Specific position/site qualifications and progression may apply. Advancement is not guaranteed by achieving years of experience only. Proficiency in job and behaviors that align with GreenPoint Ag Core Values (i.e. teamwork – helping other employees) are large considerations, consult with local team
High School graduate or GED; may be offset by experience
Valid driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy
Must obtain and maintain required state commercial applicator certification as required by state
3+ years of experience in the agriculture industry or other related industry preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
Ability to communicate with associates and customers
Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation, including understanding shipping/applicator orders and tickets, product labels, MSDS sheets, warning signs and emergency procedures
Basic mechanical skills for daily maintenance of equipment preferred
Ability to maintain customer service and represent GreenPoint Ag in a professional and courteous manner
Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an outdoor agricultural setting. Employee will regularly encounter extreme temperatures, adverse weather, dust, loud noises, jarring motions, and a hazardous agricultural and industrial environment that requires regular use of PPE.
