Solder Assembler I–V

Location: Orlando, FL (On-site)

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking Solder Assemblers (Levels I–V) to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will assemble, solder, inspect, and test precision electronic and electromechanical assemblies in a fast-paced, high-quality manufacturing environment.

This position is ideal for candidates with experience in hand soldering, electronic assembly, PCB assembly, or aerospace/defense manufacturing. Technician level will be determined based on experience and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hand soldering of electronic components, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Assemble through-hole and surface mount (SMT) components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Use soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, torque tools, calipers, and other hand tools to complete assembly operations.
  • Inspect solder joints and completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform rework, repair, and component replacement as needed.
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and standard operating procedures.
  • Operate microscopes and precision equipment when working with small electronic components.
  • Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge), safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Complete production documentation accurately and maintain organized work areas.
  • Senior-level assemblers may assist with training, mentoring, and supporting production activities.

Qualifications

  • Basic hand soldering experience required.
  • Technician level will be determined based on experience:
  • Level I: Entry-level with basic soldering knowledge or technical training.
  • Level II: 1+ year of electronic assembly or soldering experience.
  • Level III: 2+ years of electronic assembly experience with advanced soldering skills.
  • Level IV: Advanced electronic assembly experience, including complex assemblies and process improvement support.
  • Level V: 5+ years of advanced electronic assembly experience with leadership or mentoring responsibilities.
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read assembly drawings and follow written work instructions.
  • Experience working with small electronic components and precision hand tools.
  • Basic computer skills for production documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 Certification.
  • Experience with hand soldering, PCB assembly, SMT and through-hole components.
  • Experience working in electronics, aerospace, defense, medical device, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with microscopes, multimeters, precision measuring instruments, and electronic testing equipment.
  • Experience performing rework and repair of electronic assemblies.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive fine motor tasks using hand tools and microscopes.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must be eligible to work in positions involving export-controlled information in accordance with applicable U.S. regulations.
