Overview:

Join our dynamic team as a Quality Control Inspector, where your primary responsibility will be to uphold our commitment to superior quality through meticulous inspections and documentation. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, you will be an essential part of a team dedicated to maintaining high standards that adhere to the approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs). Your role is critical in ensuring accuracy and legibility in all inspection reports to facilitate traceability and minimize errors.

TRAVEL:

This position requires extensive travel, up to 100%, as presence on project sites is crucial to the role.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Exhibit familiarity with a wide range of construction processes and testing protocols while assisting the project team in ensuring accurate quality documentation.
  • Conduct inspections with a methodical approach, contributing to the closure of issues and mitigation of project risks.
  • Read and interpret construction plans and specifications while identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Lead regular QA/QC meetings, tracking logs of deficiencies, and maintaining detailed documentation.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports regarding inspection activities and maintain effective scheduling for local and state inspections.
  • Identify differences between project specifications and applicable codes, ensuring compliance to safeguard company interests.
  • Consult with the Director of Quality on complex issues beyond your expertise.
  • Maintain professionalism and up-to-date knowledge on job-related certifications.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 1 year in a QA/QC role with related education considered in lieu of experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a construction setting is required.
  • Preferred experience with engineering codes such as B31.3, clean room procedures, and oxygen cleaning.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with construction management software platforms including Bluebeam Revu.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Understanding of health and safety programs pertinent to construction.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to foster relationships across various project stakeholders.
  • A self-motivated, independent worker who can ensure resource adequacy and training.
  • Critical thinking ability to resolve quality incidents proactively.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to work long hours in various environmental conditions, including lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to navigate outdoors in changing weather, requiring the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards at height and within confined spaces.

HOURS:

This full-time position typically requires a commitment of 50 hours per week, subject to project demands.
