Schedule: Approximately 25 hours per week

Shift: Weekend evenings (Friday–Sunday evenings)

Growth Opportunity: Additional weekday hours and responsibilities may become available based on performance.

About the Position

We are a growing Asian-inspired food business seeking a dependable and motivated Line Cook to join our team. We operate out of a professional commissary/ghost kitchen environment focused on takeout, delivery, and catering. There is no front-of-house service or customer interaction, allowing our team to focus entirely on food quality, preparation, and execution.

Our kitchen is dedicated 100% gluten-free, and we take pride in making many of our sauces and menu items from scratch using high-quality ingredients.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys learning new skills, takes pride in consistency, and wants an opportunity to grow with a small business.

No prior experience with Kimbap, Onigiri, or Korean cuisine is required. We are willing to train the right person who demonstrates a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standard operating procedures
  • Learn and execute stations including:
  • Kimbap (Korean rice rolls)
  • Onigiri (Japanese rice balls)
  • Kimchi fried rice
  • Korean fried chicken
  • Rice bowls and other Asian-inspired dishes
  • Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
  • Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Keep stations clean, organized, and stocked
  • Assist with kitchen closing and cleaning duties
  • Work efficiently during busy service periods
  • Communicate effectively with team members

Prep Responsibilities

  • Assist with basic prep tasks as needed, including:
  • Vegetable preparation
  • Portioning ingredients
  • Rice preparation
  • Sauce preparation
  • Station setup and organization
  • Extensive prep experience is not required initially
  • Additional prep responsibilities may be introduced as training progresses

Qualifications

  • Previous kitchen or restaurant experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and instructions consistently
  • Strong attention to detail and food quality
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Reliable, punctual, and accountable
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Must be available to work weekend evening shifts
