Plant City, FL Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Driver for Metal Steel Heavy Equipment Operation to join our prestige client’s team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse operations and heavy equipment handling. This role involves operating various types of machinery to ensure efficient movement of materials within the warehouse environment. Will play a crucial role in maintaining safety standards while effectively managing inventory and supporting shipping and receiving operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, metal, cranes for materials handling. This does NOT include pallet jacks.
  • Perform order picking and loading/unloading of carbon steel pipe as required.
  • Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems to track inventory accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety protocols during all operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on equipment and material to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Assist in shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation of all transactions.
  • Engage in heavy lifting and moving of materials as necessary, adhering to safety guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in warehouse distribution and materials handling.
  • Familiarity with order picking processes and equipment operation (e.g., fixed heavy haul forklifts:

loads may weight anywhere from 12,000 lbs to 20,000 lbs

).

  • Background in construction or mechanical knowledge is an advantage.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow safety protocols diligently.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads consistently throughout the shift.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor is a plus.
