Journeyman Pipefitter and Welder

Combustion and Control Service is a commercial and industrial mechanical contractor with our primary focus on maintenance and retrofit projects. Our work for our install department is primarily along the Wasatch Front ranging from Spanish Fork in the south up to North Ogden in the north. Some projects will require work outside this range.

We are looking for a journeyman pipefitter/welder that has 3-4 years of experience in layout and installation of mechanical equipment and piping. This position is not limited to just welding and fitting. A journeyman must be willing to work on all stages of the project and lead a team of 3-5 other employees.

Responsibilities

• Run a project from start to finish including but not limited to demo, layout, fabrication, installation, minor concrete work, minor architectural work, cleanup, and punch list items.
• Placement and installation of mechanical equipment.
• Required to submit accurate daily logs of work completed.
• Ability to keep your team on the project busy and maintain an efficient use of time.
• Able to communicate effectively with office staff and customers on site.
• Promptly relay delays and problems to project managers.
• Certain power tools and larger equipment will be provided but journeyman are expected to have their own hand tools. That includes but is not limited to pipe wrenches, adjustable wrenches, tape measure, squares, welding hoods, hammers, screw drivers, basic socket set.

Qualifications

• Layout and sketching of pipe routings
• Parts ordering and organization
• Crew supervision and delegating work
• Pipe welding and fitting
• Experience with soldering and pressing copper pipe
• Experience with threaded pipe
• Experience with PVC pipe
• 3-4 years of pipe fitting welding experience (ideally in mechanical work)
• Valid drivers license with clean driving record
• Journeyman are assigned a company truck, and their driving record will be needed to be insured.
• Must be able to pass a background check to work at secure facilities, i.e. government buildings, prisons, courthouses, hospitals etc.…
• Must be able to work 7am – 5pm, Mon-Thurs. Some weekend work and schedule flexibility will be needed but is not common.
• Must have a smartphone and be willing to download our job tracking app. This is required for tracking hours.

• Pay will range from 38 - 40$/hourly
