Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bilingual Spanish In-Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to individuals with diverse needs within their homes. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills in both Spanish and English, along with extensive experience in personal care, health monitoring, and assisting with daily activities. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive personal care, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor and record vital signs, observe patient conditions, and report changes promptly to healthcare professionals to ensure optimal health management.
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed instructions while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, including specialized diets for dementia or Alzheimer's care, ensuring food safety and cleanliness.
- Support clients with cognitive impairments by implementing memory care strategies and engaging in activities that promote mental stimulation.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks, manual handling, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and follow personalized care plans that address each resident’s unique needs within group homes or assisted living settings.
- Must have a car
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a caregiver in home health, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or group homes.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English to effectively communicate with clients and their families.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication management, and vital signs monitoring.
- Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's support, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), intellectual disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, and developmental disabilities support.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or neurodiverse conditions is highly desirable.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in hospice or long-term care is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and manual handling tasks while maintaining patient safety standards.
- Strong organizational skills for managing care plans, documentation, and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
