Job Summary

  • The Operations Manager, Sports Turf is responsible for a variety of proficiencies associated with Professional Sports Field(s) Management. The Operations Manager, Sports Turf leads and manages aspects of renovations, new construction, support field maintenance accounts, and represents BrightView’s interest in construction meetings. This role engages in field and facility consulting projects and develops long-lasting relationships and new business opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, support, and manage athletic field systems by way of design review, renovations, new construction, and maintenance opportunities at a professional level.
  • Support companywide sports turf initiatives, i.e., branch support and employee training, client interface, consulting, maintenance estimating, and communication.
  • Create and complete various types of technical reports and project reviews, bid proposals, and RFP documents
  • Support key high-profile projects and accounts to ensure client satisfaction
  • Responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings thoroughly
  • Work with Project Management Teams, participating in meetings, and representing company interests.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or associate's degree in turf or 3 years’ experience as an assistant professional baseball turf manager.
  • Working knowledge of day-to-day field maintenance operations
  • Prior experience working on sand-based field systems
  • Strong work ethic

Physical Demands/Requirements:

  • Intensity (HIGH), frequency (HIGH), and duration (HIGH) of physical/mental capabilities required.
  • Capable of working long hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur.

Work Environment:

  • 95% Outdoor Work Environment and 5% Indoor Work Environment (April – September)
  • Extensive Travel, both domestically and internationally, with flexibility to travel on short notice and in excess of 30 days for special projects.
  • Work outdoors in inclement weather (heat/cold; rain/sun)
