Job Description for Distribution Center Technician:
At Aramark, Distribution Center Technicians play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of products within the facility. Your key duties consist of supporting warehouse operations, overseeing inventory control, preparing orders, and maintaining a clean and secure work environment.
Qualifications for Distribution Center Technician:
- Only individuals who are 18 years of age and older are allowed to take part
- Candidates are encouraged to have a high school diploma or GED
- Those with a minimum of two years of warehouse experience will be given priority
- Key proficiencies in reading, writing, and basic calculations
- Basic computer literacy
- Proficiency in both written and verbal communication is a valuable asset
- Capability to manipulate equipment with tactile skill
- Successfully lift items up to 50 lbs and frequently handle loads weighing up to 35 lbs
- A valid driver's license may need to be presented, depending on the location, as a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check will be carried out
Physical Demands for Distribution Center Technician:
Tasks for this position may encompass:
- Extended durations of being on one's feet and in motion
- Regular lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling requirements
- Regulations mandate the proper utilization of uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Job Responsibilities for Distribution Center Technician:
Responsibilities at Aramark sites may fluctuate depending on client expectations and operational demands. Essential duties can involve:
- Inspect, classify, and mark received products; identify and report any discrepancies found between deliveries and invoices
- Adhere to the FIFO inventory method for perishables to manage the storage and retrieval of products efficiently
- Operate manual or electric pallet jacks and forklifts with the requisite training provided
- Choose and gather inventory to meet requirements for fulfilling orders of products, materials, and equipment
- Handle, offload, and shift items around the warehouse area or to client venues utilizing either pushcarts or motor-powered conveyances
- Carry out scheduled inventory counts consistently
- Thoroughly maintain records such as inventory logs, temperature assessments, spoilage records, and equipment evaluations, whether in physical or electronic formats
- Maintain the tidiness and sanitation of various sections within the warehouse, which may encompass bathrooms, designated break spots, loading bays, and raised platforms
- It is important to follow safety policies, OSHA standards, SDS guidelines, and protocols for handling emergencies
- Use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment to safeguard against potential hazards
- Maintain the security of assets for both clients and the company
- Interact professionally with clients, colleagues, vendors, and visitors at all times
- Participate in meetings and handle any other duties given
