This individual will be a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, capable of guiding machinists, troubleshooting issues in real time, and optimizing how complex parts are manufactured. The role will initially report into senior leadership and ultimately transition under the General Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead day-to-day operations across a two-shift machining environment (30+ machinists)
  • Serve as a visible, hands-on leader on the shop floor, providing direction, support, and accountability
  • Improve throughput, efficiency, and overall production performance

  • Support machinists with setup strategy, process improvement, and problem-solving
  • Partner closely with scheduling to ensure alignment between production priorities and execution
  • Act as a technical resource and facilitator, ensuring work is completed efficiently and correctly
  • Build trust and credibility with the team, establishing a strong culture of ownership and accountability
  • Help implement and support continuous improvement initiatives across the shop

  • Experience troubleshooting machining issues and supporting production in real time
  • Working knowledge of CNC programming (does not need to program directly)
  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machining (5-axis a plus, not required)
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and gain the trust and respect of machinists
  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide clear direction
