Job Title: Fabricator Tig Welder
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator Tig Welder to join our team immediately at a family-owned mechanical contractor specializing in HVAC Sheet Metal fabrication and welding. This role involves working with galvanized, stainless steel, and aluminum materials to design, fabricate, and install HVAC and dust collection systems. The position requires a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring compliance with industry processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day fabrication activities with galvanized sheet metal, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Ensure compliance with internal fabrication processes and industry standards.
- Maintain quality standards for assigned projects.
- Communicate daily with the Shop Supervisor regarding potential schedule delays and rework.
- Report damaged tools, materials, and equipment to the Shop Supervisor.
- Work flexibly, including outside normal hours or weekends when required.
- Comply with company, industry, and regulatory safety standards.
- Lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Read and interpret cut sheets.
- Operate shop equipment, including Shear, Brake, Drive Machine, Spot Welder, and Forklift.
- Develop sheet metal projects by analyzing work orders, prints, and completed assembly; calculate requirements and determine methods.
- Fabricate components using equipment to cut, form, and fasten pieces.
- Verify results by inspecting and testing components.
- Accurately track time per job.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to procedures and legal regulations.
- Keep equipment operational by following instructions and performing preventive maintenance.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in welding techniques including Tig, Mig, and Stick.
- Ability to read blueprints or schematics and fabricate components as needed.
- Strong mathematics skills, including knowledge of Pi and formulating geometric shapes.
- Experience in spot welding, shear/brake press, and using tape measures.
- Ability to use hand tools, including hand seamers, aviation snips, hammers, vice grips, screwdrivers, and cordless impact drills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years fabrication experience, with 5+ years preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans, specifications, and control drawings.
- Effective communication skills for presenting information and responding to management inquiries.

Work Environment
Work in a family-owned and operated company with a team of 10 employees that is actively growing. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with occasional flexibility for additional hours as needed.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
