Administrative Accounting Assistant – Contract-to-Hire

Specialized Recruiting Group is recruiting for a client in Northwest Oklahoma City seeking an Administrative Accounting Assistant to support daily accounting and office operations within a small office environment. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential for the right candidate.

Position Overview:

This role will support both accounting and administrative functions while assisting with the day-to-day operations of the office. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of incoming correspondence and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable support
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records
• Enter and update transactions within QuickBooks
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for tracking, reporting, and organization
• Organize, prioritize, and file incoming mail and oil & gas-related documents
• Support general office operations and administrative tasks
• Maintain organized filing systems and financial documentation
• Assist with front office support and communication as needed

Qualifications:

• Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative support experience preferred
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks required
• Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills required
• Basic understanding of accounting functions and financial recordkeeping
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and work independently in a small office setting
• Professional communication and reliability
• Prior oil & gas industry exposure strongly preferred
• Familiarity with oil & gas terminology such as:
• Joint Operating Agreements (JOAs)
• Pooling
• Working Interest (WI) vs. Net Revenue Interest (NRI)
• Carried Interest
• Non-Consent
