GENERAL SUMMARY

IONEX is a custom manufacturer of industrial equipment for the Nuclear Industry. IONEX Engineers, Designs, and Fabricates specialized equipment to meet critical functional requirements. Consequently, all customized products are processed through the Company’s Engineering/Quality program. This program requires intensive adherence to Inspection and Documentation practices.

The Senior Project Manager responsibilities are to ensure on-time and on-budget execution of large, complex projects. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for monitoring and capturing additional business opportunities with the customer in terms of potential expansion of scope and increases in purchases by the customer.

The three primary responsibilities are: (1) ensure on-time delivery of large projects, (2) on-spec execution of product requirements, and (3) timely correspondence, including invoicing and change orders, with the customer to ensure customer satisfaction. Important secondary responsibilities are: (1) track current and accumulated costs (both materials, labor, and applied overhead), (2) monitor net balances (project revenue vs cost, and net project cash flow)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Manage project performance to ensure on-time delivery of large projects. The Senior Project Manager will develop an over-all project plan and will manage all activities necessary to achieve project milestones and targets. The Senior Project Manager will manage progress through a sequence of steps that are typical for customized industrial equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, (1) Engineering, (2) Design, (3) Procurement, (4) Material Control, (5) Manufacturing, (6) Shipping, and (7) Invoicing. The Senior Project Manager may manage several projects. On occasion, the Senior Project Manager may have one or more Project Assistants supporting his/her efforts.

2. Ensure on-spec execution of the product requirements. This would entail managing the Engineering and Design cycles so that IONEX’s Engineering Documents (Engineering Drawings, Specifications, Data Sheets, and Calculations) meet the customer’s explicit product requirements, as well as comply with the customer’s intended use of IONEX’s products. The Senior Project Manager would also manage the project’s progress through the Manufacturing cycle to ensure that all manufactured products comply with the Engineering specifications that have been approved by the customer.

3. Undertake continuous conversations with the customer to identify and capture future business opportunities. Some of IONEX’s current and future customers have pre-identified potential extensions of existing contracts. The Senior Project Manager’s scope includes positioning IONEX to capture these future business opportunities.

4. Serve as the primary interface between IONEX and its customers for assigned projects and responds to customer inquiries in a timely manner. Provides sales information, project status updates and reports, coordinates technical and commercial meetings and conference calls, responds to project concerns and complaints, and coordinates regular project meetings with the IONEX team. Creates and maintains production orders including project documentation and communications.

5. Reviews and negotiates customer contracts, quotes and project changes based on customer requirements and specifications, and in accordance with company product line and custom abilities to assure that company profitability is maintained.

6. Prepares, maintains, and distributes project budgets and assists with budget-related decisions.

7. Works with the Scheduler to establish a project schedule. Communicates schedule, timelines, and testing requirements to IONEX team and customer, ensuring orders are completed on schedule and within project budget.

8. Ensures projects remain on schedule by:

a. Identifying potential future delays such as material or equipment shortages or missing or delayed documentation.

b. Coordinating with affected departments to formulate solutions and alternatives.

c. Create punch lists to define tasks and sub-tasks necessary to execute solutions

d. Mobilize resources, such as personnel, materials, tooling, equipment, or management attention

a. Monitor progress of solutions. Highlight shortfalls in progress or missed dates

9. Assembles, reviews, and submits supporting documentation necessary for project invoices. Initiates appropriate follow-up to ensure customer invoices are paid timely, including verbal and/or written customer contact, when necessary.

10. Coordinate’s shipping activities for assigned projects/orders to include determination of shipping requirements, packing list creation, and verifying that shipments are properly packaged (when appropriate); ensuring completed projects are accurately shipped and delivered in accordance with the order requirements and deadlines.
