Hood Distribution is seeking a motivated, early-career Outside Sales Representative to manage and grow our specialized wood coatings and finish line. This hybrid role balances account management with warm prospecting across the greater Columbus territory. We provide comprehensive, hands-on training on our technical wood finishes, making this an excellent leap for a driven retail sales professional looking to build a lucrative B2B sales career.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management (80%): Maintain and strengthen relationships with our existing base of high-tenure clients.
- Warm Prospecting (20%): Convert existing plywood accounts into finish-line customers using provided, high-quality internal leads.
- Territory Coverage: Travel throughout Metro Columbus, extending west along Route 70 toward the Indiana border and north up to Findlay.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with our local branch team-including inside sales and warehouse staff-to coordinate seamless client deliveries.
- Branch Touchpoints: Work remotely in the field Monday through Thursday, returning to the Columbus branch on Fridays for team alignment.
Position Requirements
- Background: Experience in B2B/retail sales OR familiarity with the wood coatings and paint industry (e.g., Sherwin-Williams retail store experience is a perfect fit).
- Traits: A positive attitude, a strong internal motivation to succeed, and an eagerness to learn a technical product line.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $50,000 base salary.
- First-Year OTE: Realistic total earnings of $70,000 to $85,000 in your first year.
