Lead Line Cook/Prep Cook

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of culinary techniques. This position involves working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, assisting in the preparation of high-quality meals, and ensuring that all food safety standards are met.

Duties

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring spices.
• Cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and cooking appliances.
• Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role within the food industry.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills.
• Familiarity with dietary restrictions and the ability to accommodate special requests.
• Excellent knife skills and ability to work with various cooking tools.
• Understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
