Automotive Diesel Technician

Role and Responsibilities:

As an Automotive Diesel Technician, you will perform comprehensive maintenance and repair work on heavy-duty truck equipment, applying technical expertise to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair on electrical, hydraulic, suspension, braking, and air systems.
• Utilize electronic diagnostic systems to accurately identify issues and recommend repairs.
• Conduct safety inspections on vehicles and equipment.
• Document maintenance activities using fleet maintenance software.
• Review and address issues noted in Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Respond promptly to breakdown and emergency service requests.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company and OSHA standards.
• Clearly communicate repair needs and maintenance requirements.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of two years of experience in heavy-duty truck maintenance and repair, or completion of an accredited vocational or technical training program.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, motor vehicle record review, and background screening.
• Ownership of required mechanic tools and a toolbox.
• Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting more than 50 pounds and working indoors or outdoors.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B) preferred, with the opportunity to obtain within 90 days through on-the-job training.
• Experience with welding and fabrication.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly pay ranging from $32.00 to $36.00, based on experience.
