Role and Responsibilities:
As an Automotive Diesel Technician, you will perform comprehensive maintenance and repair work on heavy-duty truck equipment, applying technical expertise to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repair on electrical, hydraulic, suspension, braking, and air systems.
- Utilize electronic diagnostic systems to accurately identify issues and recommend repairs.
- Conduct safety inspections on vehicles and equipment.
- Document maintenance activities using fleet maintenance software.
- Review and address issues noted in Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Respond promptly to breakdown and emergency service requests.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company and OSHA standards.
- Clearly communicate repair needs and maintenance requirements.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of two years of experience in heavy-duty truck maintenance and repair, or completion of an accredited vocational or technical training program.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, motor vehicle record review, and background screening.
- Ownership of required mechanic tools and a toolbox.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting more than 50 pounds and working indoors or outdoors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B) preferred, with the opportunity to obtain within 90 days through on-the-job training.
- Experience with welding and fabrication.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly pay ranging from $32.00 to $36.00, based on experience.
