Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans tailored to infants aged 12-18 months, incorporating principles of the Reggio Emilia approach.
- Foster a safe, engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and social-emotional growth.
- Utilize effective behavior management strategies to support positive interactions and emotional regulation among young children.
- Engage in ongoing curriculum development focused on literacy education, early intervention strategies, and foundational math concepts suitable for toddlers.
- Collaborate with families to communicate children’s progress, developmental milestones, and individualized needs through regular updates and meetings.
- Maintain accurate documentation of each child's developmental progress in accordance with mandated reporting laws and childcare standards.
- Support classroom management by organizing materials, managing routines, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Incorporate diverse teaching methods including Montessori techniques and physical education activities to promote holistic development.
- Participate in professional development opportunities related to childhood development instruction, special education practices, and classroom experience enhancement.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children aged 12-18 months in a preschool setting is required; experience in private schools or Montessori environments is highly valued.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development tailored for infants, including literacy education and early childhood education best practices.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques suitable for toddlers and familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare.
- Proven ability to manage classrooms effectively while fostering a nurturing environment that supports individual child development needs.
- Strong communication skills necessary for collaborating with families, team members, and community partners.
- Experience with standardized testing or assessments designed for early childhood learners is a plus but not mandatory.
- Certification in early intervention or special education is advantageous; ongoing professional growth in childhood development instruction is encouraged.
