NorthAction Shred of Texas is a local, privately-owned document shredding company with a trusted reputation in North Texas since 2003. We are the go-to service vendor for secure paper, media and product destruction and are looking for a part-time dispatcher to support our routes and drivers.

The Dispatcher and Scheduling Specialist will possess in-depth knowledge of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and will be responsible for scheduling local routes within assigned service areas, maximizing trip and service efficiencies and providing real-time operational support to our drivers. This job would be comparable to most field-service dispatch roles involving scheduled and on-demand commercial routes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and dispatch drivers, trucks, and equipment according to service requirements
  • Plan and optimize in-town routes to maximize efficiency and minimize fuel and operating costs
  • Communicate route changes, delays, and customer updates to drivers in a timely manner
  • Monitor route progress when needed using a GPS dashboard that tracks driver metrics
  • Coordinate with customers regarding delivery schedules, service updates and changes
  • Develop a working knowledge of industry specific software to facilitate daily workflow
  • Work with operational management as needed to coordinate loading and offloading of equipment
  • Ensure company fleet of trucks follows their preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Hands-on understanding of truck and equipment capacities to accurately assign stops per truck

Job Requirements

  • 2 years of experience as a field service dispatcher to business offices with standard 8-5 pm hours
  • Professional presence and communicator by phone and email
  • Self-motivated learner that works well independently and within a team concept.
  • Solid organizational and time management disciplines with great attention to detail
  • Reliability and punctuality an absolute must
  • Bi-Lingual English/Spanish a plus

Education:

  • High school diploma/some college business courses
  • Associate’s degree in logistics or transportation preferred

Compensation/hours:

  • 25 hours weekly, Monday-Friday 7am-12 pm
  • Paid weekly, $18-$20 per hour depending on experience
  • Available for immediate hire

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
