Chemical LAB Operator - 3rd shift

Training on 1st shift - up to 90 days, 7am- 3:30pm

3rd shift hours - Sunday - Thursday, 11pm - 7:30am

SUMMARY OF JOB

Provide support to the production department by maintaining the chemistry quality to designed engineering standards for our plating tanks at Hohman Plating.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains established chemical limits for plating tanks
• Transfer & add chemicals to buckets and tanks/baths based on schedule
• Change filters and anodes based on schedule
• Dumps, cleans and replaces chemicals in tanks/baths
• Wear and maintain proper PPE as defined by department
• Adequate computer skills for data entry and electronic sign off (Microsoft Office Skills)
• Load and unload materials using forklift
• Make-up temporary tanks for special processes
• Be responsible for completing all scheduled items within plating cell
• Inspect tanks/baths daily to ensure no leaks, tanks are topped off to a specified level
• Identify out of tolerance readings and notify Lab Supervisor of any out of specification results
• Maintain 5s/Lean concepts established company-wide & by department
• Perform weekly scheduled audits of 5’s within Solution Control Departments
• Maintain equipment: by inspections before and after use and generating repair work orders as needed
• Ability to communicate and perform in a fast paced team environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles and chemicals. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. May occasionally be exposed to risk of electrical shock.
