Overview

Allied Travel Careers , in partnership with Med Pro Healthcare Staffing, seeks a qualified Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to serve an assignment with a top healthcare client in Alamosa, Colorado 81101.

Requirements

  • Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP or actively in the process of obtaining licensure.
  • At least one year of professional working experience.
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Must hold CCC's.
  • Additional requirements as determined by the client facility.

Responsibilities

The Speech Language Pathologist / SLP is responsible for assessing referred patients requiring treatment for speech, hearing, and/or language deficits. They will teach patients how to make sounds, improve their voices, and increase oral or written language skills to communicate more effectively. Additionally, they will instruct individuals on strengthening muscles or using compensatory strategies to swallow without choking or inhaling food or liquid.

  • Provide skilled speech therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders.
  • Assess patient needs, plan, evaluate, and modify care to meet goals of speech therapy interventions.
  • Set realistic and achievable goals for patients to develop or recover reliable communication and swallowing skills, enabling them to fulfill educational, vocational, and social roles.
