Job Responsibilities
Install wireways supporting cables in submarines. Install cables and electrical components (nuclear and non-nuclear) ranging from large power distribution switchboards to telephones (including control, power, electronics, and weapon systems).
Install, tag out, and test ship's lighting.
Hook up cables to electrical components in accordance with NAVSEA methods and procedures, such as hardwire and connecterization.
Groom electrical components for inspections and provide documentation for every job performed. Include Vulcanization of ship's cables and installation and maintenance of shipboard temporary services.
Learn power and data/signal cable splicing.

Qualifications
Required
Must have a High School Diploma, GED, have 2+ years of related technical experience or be a current High School Senior.
0-5 years of relevant experience.
Must be available for all shifts.
Successful completion of the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board (EWIB) Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative training program if applicable.
Preferred
Vocational, Technical Colleges, Apprentice programs, Military, Shipbuilding, and Manufacturing experience.
Skills
Ability to read schematics.
Ability to read blueprints.
Familiarity/experience with basic tools.
Experience with multimeters.
Positive attitude/eager to learn.
