Transportation Dispatcher – Intermodal (Ocean Container Drayage) / OTR

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Dispatcher to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in intermodal trucking operations or over-the-road (OTR) dispatching.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team, and a commitment to delivering results. Experience dispatching drivers performing multiple moves per day within the intermodal sector is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch and coordinate drivers to ensure efficient and timely movement of freight.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, terminals, and ports.
• Monitor driver productivity, schedules, and load status throughout the day.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and Hours of Service requirements.
• Manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Resolve operational issues and provide proactive solutions to keep freight moving.
• Maintain accurate records and update dispatch systems as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in intermodal trucking dispatching or OTR dispatching with similar driver communication and coordination responsibilities.
• Experience dispatching drivers performing multiple moves per day.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service rules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail and established processes.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workload demands.
• Proficient computer skills and ability to learn transportation management systems.
