Welding Instructor (Part Time)

JBricklayers & Allied Craftworkers (BAC) Local 9 Pennsylvania is seeking a Part-Time Welding Instructor to provide hands-on instruction for apprentices preparing to earn their AWS 3G and 4G Structural Welding Certifications.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welding professional to earn supplemental income while helping prepare apprentices for successful careers in the union construction industry.

Pay

$50.00 per hour

Schedule

• Saturdays
• 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM
• Seasonal training sessions:
• Early September through the end of October
• Mid-January through mid-March

Responsibilities

• Oversee apprentice training in four welding booths.
• Provide hands-on instruction in AWS 3G and 4G structural welding.
• Demonstrate proper welding techniques and safe work practices.
• Evaluate apprentice performance throughout training.
• Administer AWS 3G and 4G welding qualification tests.
• Certify and stamp qualification cards for apprentices who successfully meet AWS standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized welding training area.

Required Qualifications

• Must hold a current AWS certification authorizing the individual to administer AWS 3G and 4G welding qualification tests and certify successful candidates.
• Extensive experience performing AWS 3G and 4G structural welding.
• Strong knowledge of AWS structural welding procedures and qualification standards.
• Previous welding instructor or hands-on training experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to effectively instruct, evaluate, and mentor apprentices.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
