Step into an impactful role as a Special Education Teacher supporting “opportunity youth” at a dynamic public charter school network in Ohio focused on dropout recovery and prevention. You’ll have the unique chance to empower students ages 15–21 with a flexible, self-paced curriculum, hands-on career tech training, and a pathway to high school graduation and meaningful work opportunities.

Starting August 3, 2026, through June 25, 2027, you’ll work full-time (40 hours per week) in a contract position, becoming a guiding force for students striving to succeed on non-traditional academic journeys. Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (Ohio or reciprocal state accepted)
  • Experience working with high school-aged students, particularly in alternative educational settings, preferred
  • Ability to tailor instruction for diverse learning needs and individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with staff, students, and families
  • Dedication to fostering a positive, growth-oriented classroom atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans that align with both curriculum goals and student IEPs
  • Monitor academic progress and adapt teaching strategies to ensure student engagement and comprehension
  • Work closely with school leadership, counselors, and support teams to guide students toward graduation and career readiness
  • Provide direct support, intervention, and advocacy for students facing academic and personal challenges
  • Maintain accurate records and participate actively in meetings regarding student progress
