About the Role

As a Precision CNC Machinist, you will play a vital role in our manufacturing operations by transforming raw materials into high-quality components. You will be responsible for the full production lifecycle, ensuring that every part meets rigorous engineering specifications through expert machine operation and technical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the complete setup and operation of CNC mills and lathes to achieve high-precision production goals.
  • Optimize production workflows by performing real-time G-code adjustments and managing tooling requirements.
  • Conduct thorough quality inspections using advanced metrology equipment, including CMMs, micrometers, and optical comparators.
  • Maintain equipment reliability through proactive operator-level preventive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting.
  • Document production progress and job data accurately within digital management systems.
  • Ensure a high-performance environment by adhering to 5S standards and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
  • Collaborate with the team to implement process improvements that enhance shop efficiency and part consistency.
  • Perform finishing tasks such as de-burring to ensure all components meet final quality standards.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in precision CNC machining, specifically with mills and lathes.
  • Advanced proficiency in blueprint reading and the application of GD&T standards.
  • Strong understanding of machining fundamentals, including axis orientation and centerline pickup procedures.
  • Ability to perform complex setups and make technical program adjustments.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to meet ITAR compliance requirements.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with CAM software such as Mastercam or GibbsCAM.
  • Familiarity with multi-axis machining (5+ axis) environments.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical and tooling issues in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude for industrial applications.
