Position: Surgical Tech

Location: Greensboro, NC

Department: Ortho Clinic

Employment Type: Full Time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Role Overview

As a Surgical Technologist, you will collaborate closely with surgeons, registered nurses and the broader OR team to:

  • Ensure the operating room environment is safe, sterile and efficient.
  • Set up, maintain and troubleshoot equipment and instrumentation so procedures run smoothly.
  • Apply your expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques to optimize surgical outcomes.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and actively contribute to a positive patient experience.

Qualifications and Key Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or military equivalent (e.g., MOS 68D – Operating Room Specialist).
  • Current Surgical Technologist certification preferred; if not certified at hire, newly qualified grads may be required to achieve certification within 12 months.
  • Prior experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred — the ability to swiftly validate skills, learn department-specific competencies, and navigate a fast‐paced operating room environment is important.
  • Strong customer-service mindset, excellent interpersonal communication, time-management and team-oriented attitude.

What We're Looking For:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D – Operating Room Specialist). For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification please see additional skills required.
  • Experience: Previous Surgical Technologist experience, preferred.
  • Licensure/certification/registration: Current Surgical Tech Certification, preferred.
  • Additional skills required: For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification the following additional requirements apply: new graduates must obtain certification within 12months of hire. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing. Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, and time management skills
