Location: Rita's on the River – San Antonio, TX

Compensation: Starting at $15/hour

Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time (Closed on Sundays)

Overview

Rita’s on the River is looking for skilled and motivated Line Cooks and Prep Cooks to join our fast-paced, high-energy kitchen located on the iconic San Antonio River Walk. Whether you're working the line or prepping behind the scenes, you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality Tex-Mex dishes and maintaining smooth kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Line Cook, you will:

• Prepare and cook menu items according to Rita’s recipes and portion guidelines
• Ensure consistency and quality of all dishes served
• Maintain a clean and organized station throughout the shift
• Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to deliver timely service
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and food handling guidelines
• Assist with kitchen opening and closing duties

As a Prep Cook, you will:

• Chop and prepare vegetables, proteins, and other ingredients for service
• Assist line cooks with food prep and maintain par levels
• Follow recipes and prep lists accurately
• Organize and store ingredients properly
• Ensure prep areas and tools are kept clean and sanitized
• Help monitor inventory and communicate low-stock items

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience strongly preferred (line cook or prep cook roles)
• Food Handler's Certification (must have prior to hire)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork mentality
• Excellent communication and a positive attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
