AECOM is seeking a Construction Engineer to support aviation projects, including airport runways, taxiways, and related infrastructure located in the Hunt Valley, MD area. This position involves on-site documentation, and coordination to ensure construction work complies with project plans, specifications, and applicable aviation standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Under general supervision, performs routine duties

Manage construction projects, including coordinating schedules, budgets, quality, safety, and field operations

Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications

Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work

Independently performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design

Performs quantity surveys for tracking and reporting

May provide technical direction to drafters, technicians, and surveyors

Maintain comprehensive on-site documentation, including daily reports, inspection logs, and construction records in compliance with aviation standards and regulatory requirements

Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and adherence to project schedules

Process and track Requests for Information (RFIs) and change orders, ensuring proper documentation and approval workflows

Conduct material testing and quality assurance inspections to verify compliance with project specifications and industry standards

Monitor and report on construction progress, including milestone achievement and budget tracking, to project management and clients

Minimum Requirements:

BA/BS plus 2 years of related experience, or AS Degree plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Valid U.S Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review

Due to the nature of the projects a US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:

Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) certification

Current NICET, ICC, MARTCP, or equivalent industry certifications

Experience managing airport construction projects, including project planning, coordination, scheduling, quality assurance, and stakeholder communication

Demonstrated project management experience with aviation or airport infrastructure projects

Relocation assistance is not available for this position
