About the Role
As a Construction Electrician Instructor (Electrical Trades Instructor), you will provide classroom and hands-on lab instruction in core electrical concepts and construction trade practices.
You will teach students across topics including:
Basic electricity
Electrical wiring methods
Electric services
Conduit installation methods
Motor principles
Electrical controls
Life safety systems
Construction safety practices
This role combines technical expertise, mentorship, and hands-on instruction to prepare students for successful careers in the electrical and construction trades industry.
Schedule:
Monday-Thursday: 8:00 am - 2:30 pm and 5:00 pm - 11:30 pm
Key Responsibilities
Teach electrical trades classes on a regularly scheduled basis
Create a welcoming and engaging learning environment for students
Deliver hands-on instruction in classroom and lab settings
Assist with curriculum development and course material preparation
Maintain classroom tools, lab equipment, and instructional materials
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress
Submit evaluations, reports, and required documentation on time
Support student retention and academic success initiatives
Participate in instructor training, faculty meetings, and professional development
Assist with equipment and supply inventory management
Communicate student attendance concerns and performance issues to leadership
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized training environment
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Vocational, technical, or construction-related training preferred
Experience
Minimum 4 years of experience in the electrical or construction trades field
Experience as a Construction Electrician, Commercial Electrician, Industrial Electrician, or Electrical Technician preferred
Previous vocational training or teaching experience is a plus
Skills
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and construction safety
Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven educational environment
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
A positive, team-oriented approach and willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed
Certifications Licenses
OSHA 10-Hour Safety Certification within 6 months of hire
CPR Certification current or obtained within 3 months of hire
