Description

Job Summary:

Independently performs a variety of plumbing maintenance and repair tasks. Installs and repairs piping systems, valves, and fixtures. Technicians support the department diagnosing issues and provide solutions; while mentoring Tradesman team members on projects and general maintenance.

Core Responsibilities and

Essential Functions:

  • Performs skilled plumbing maintenance, repair, and installation work in a hospital setting, ensuring system reliability and safety.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing fixtures, drains, and water supply systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, valves, and water heaters.
  • Assist with medical gas and hydronic system repairs under supervision.
  • Respond to work orders and emergencies promptly.
  • Install and repair water lines, sanitary lines, and related components.
  • Read and interpret plumbing blueprints and schematics.
  • Maintain tools and inventory for assigned work areas.
  • Promotes proper system testing, maintenance, and documentation in compliance with DNV standards
  • Completes all activities in compliance with codes and regulatory standards
  • All other plumbing duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Required:

High school diploma or equivalent

  • Preferred:

Completion of plumbing apprenticeship or technical program

Experience:

  • Required:

3 years of experience performing plumbing work in commercial or institutional settings.

  • Preferred: 3 years of healthcare experience

Position Requirement(s):

License/Certification/Registration

Required:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Preferred:

Post-secondary training or certification in plumbing or related field
