Description
Job Summary:
Independently performs a variety of plumbing maintenance and repair tasks. Installs and repairs piping systems, valves, and fixtures. Technicians support the department diagnosing issues and provide solutions; while mentoring Tradesman team members on projects and general maintenance.
Core Responsibilities and
Essential Functions:
- Performs skilled plumbing maintenance, repair, and installation work in a hospital setting, ensuring system reliability and safety.
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing fixtures, drains, and water supply systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, valves, and water heaters.
- Assist with medical gas and hydronic system repairs under supervision.
- Respond to work orders and emergencies promptly.
- Install and repair water lines, sanitary lines, and related components.
- Read and interpret plumbing blueprints and schematics.
- Maintain tools and inventory for assigned work areas.
- Promotes proper system testing, maintenance, and documentation in compliance with DNV standards
- Completes all activities in compliance with codes and regulatory standards
- All other plumbing duties as assigned.
Education:
- Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred:
Completion of plumbing apprenticeship or technical program
Experience:
- Required:
3 years of experience performing plumbing work in commercial or institutional settings.
- Preferred: 3 years of healthcare experience
