Plumber / Steampipe Fitter

Location: Norfolk, VA

Work Shift: Rotating

Overview

The Plumber/Steampipe Fitter is responsible for inspecting and repairing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures related to the heating, water, gas and drainage systems. This individual will also manage the operation, maintenance and repair of medical air and suction systems, medical gases including distribution, piping and terminal connections, and maintaining and repairing heating and cooling hydronic systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Four years of relevant experience or 240 hours of vocational training (required)
• Journeyman Plumber licensure must be obtained within 90 days of hire
• MLB required upon hire; Anti‑Backflow certification preferred, Required within one year of employment

Requirements

• Position classified as Mission Essential personnel
• Facilities employee must be within ½ hour return to SNGH
• Rotating schedule with weekends and on‑call required
