What’s the Role
Hebrew Public seeks a Dean of Culture (12-month role) to serve as an integral educational leader supporting its academic program at SIHP. Working closely with the network academic leadership team and with school-based staff, the Academic Dean will play a critical role in leading and supporting SIHP to achieve its academic vision by leading data-driven instructional coaching and professional development. The successful candidate will possess a track record of breakthrough student achievement results in their own classroom and will demonstrate a keen ability to coach others to similar outcomes. Reporting to the Head of School, the Academic Dean will drive continual improvement of instruction at their school. The opportunity is ideal for a proven instructional leader who is passionate about strengthening Hebrew Public’s commitment to exceptional instruction and student achievement.
What You’ll Do
Student Culture Student Development
Cultivate a vibrant, inclusive, and mission-aligned school environment
Promote student belonging, leadership, and civic responsibility
Design and implement schoolwide culture systems
Integrate robust social-emotional learning (SEL) and character education
Create meaningful opportunities for student voice, empathy development, community engagement
MTSS, Behavior Systems Accountability
Oversee a data-driven, multi-tiered system of behavioral support (PBIS/MTSS)
Manage equitable and progressive discipline protocols balancing accountability with student growth
Coordinate Tier 1–3 behavioral interventions
Lead and monitor attendance initiatives
Ensure regulatory compliance related to student conduct
Analyze and utilize behavior data to improve schoolwide outcomes
Staff Coaching Family Engagement
Strengthen home-school partnerships
Empower instructional staff to support student success
Provide targeted coaching in classroom management and responsive classroom practices
Facilitate collaborative problem-solving for complex student needs
Build strong, trust-based relationships with families
Supervise and support a small team (as applicable)
Who You Are
Bachelor’s Degree required; Masters Degree preferred
Three years full-time classroom teaching experience is strongly preferred, preferably in grades pre-K-8
NYS Teacher Certification preferred
A team player, with a strong work ethic and consistent follow-through
Very strong understanding of the social and emotional development of children
Exceptionally effective at building lasting and meaningful relationships with elementary aged students and their families
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
