Lead Barista

Overview

The Lead Barista plays a key role in bringing that experience to life. This position is responsible for delivering exceptional hospitality, maintaining product quality, and supporting the daily operations of the café. Lead Baristas serve as key holders and help ensure the café runs smoothly, efficiently, and consistently in alignment with Lucky Goat standards.

Working closely with the Director of Operations, the Lead Barista helps guide the team, execute each shift, and create an environment that is warm, inviting, and energetic.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example in delivering an exceptional guest experience through genuine hospitality and attention to detail
• Support daily café operations, including opening and closing procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment at all times
• Ensure consistency and quality across all food and beverage preparation
• Operate and oversee the use of the espresso machine (restricted to Lead Baristas and those in training)
• Support and guide team members during shifts to ensure smooth execution and strong teamwork
• Handle cash management procedures, including drawers and end-of-day deposits
• Assist in training and developing baristas to meet Lucky Goat standards
• Support community engagement efforts and represent the brand positively

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead by example
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Passion for hospitality, service, and creating a great guest experience
• Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of coffee and café operations (training provided and built upon)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Pay: $15.50 - $19.50 per hour
