The Payroll and HR Assistant will provide essential support to the Human Resources department by assisting with various administrative duties, payroll processing, and event coordination. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general administrative duties including filing, organizing documents, and maintaining HR records.
  • Assist in organizing and executing employee programs and events to enhance workplace culture and engagement.
  • Coordinate meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and taking minutes as needed.
  • Track and maintain records of employee certifications and training requirements.
  • Support the HR Director in payroll processing, serving as a second set of eyes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Run payroll reports bi-monthly, checking for discrepancies and ensuring all data is accurate before submission.
  • Assist with onboarding processes for new hires, including paperwork and orientation activities.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and HR-related matters in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all HR and payroll information in accordance with company policies and regulations.
  • Provide coverage for HR functions as needed, particularly during staff absences or peak times.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the HR Director.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in HR or payroll processing is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and HRIS/payroll software, UKG a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Schedule:

This position requires approximately 30 hours per week, with the flexibility to work up to 40 hours when necessary to cover for absences or meet departmental needs.
