Position Overview
Join our dynamic finance team as a Lead Financial Accountant, where you will have a significant impact on our financial planning, reporting, and operational analysis. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with various departments, including distribution, production, manufacturing, and sales, to deliver valuable insights that enhance performance and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end closing procedures, encompassing journal entries, inventory valuation, accruals, variance analyses, and reconciliation.
- Prepare and interpret monthly financial reports, emphasizing vital trends, profitability metrics, and performance indicators.
- Conduct in-depth operational and business analyses to streamline shipping operations and heighten visibility.
- Analyze gross margins, pricing strategies, and product profitability across diverse categories and channels.
- Assist in inventory analysis, focusing on turnover rates, aging, and reserve recommendations.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for cost savings and enhancements in processes.
- Ensure data integrity and maintain financial reporting tools and systems for accurate insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Active CPA certification or on track to become a CPA.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting with a focus on financial analysis, ideally within the apparel, retail, or consumer goods sectors.
- Strong foundational knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Experience in month-end closing processes and managing large datasets.
- Proficient in advanced Excel functionalities, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling.
- Familiarity with SQL and/or BI tools is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
