Job Title: Tear Down Technician / Pump Assembler
Job Description
This role focuses on disassembling, inspecting, and assisting in the repair process of pumps, blowers, and compressors used in water and oil applications. You will carefully break down equipment, take precise measurements, and support accurate repair quotes while also contributing to inspection, assembly, and testing activities in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Disassemble pumps used in water and oil industries, breaking down each unit according to established procedures.
- Use micrometers and calipers to take precise measurements of pump components after disassembly.
- Operate torque and impact tools, as well as other hand and power tools, to safely disassemble and assemble equipment.
- Document and communicate measurement results and component conditions to a partner or team member to support accurate customer repair quotes.
- Perform inspection, assembly, and testing of pumps, compressors, blowers, and exhausters as needed.
- Assemble blowers and exhausters according to blueprints and work instructions, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Work closely with Engineering and Quality Assurance teams to troubleshoot issues and solve mechanical and assembly problems.
- Apply standard work practices and follow established procedures to maintain consistency and quality in all tasks.
- Follow all safety rules, environmental regulations, and use required safety equipment at all times.
- Adhere to 6S (5S) principles to maintain an organized, clean, and efficient work area.
- Operate cranes and fork trucks to move equipment and parts after receiving company-provided training and certification.
- Use machinery, hand tools, and power tools as needed to complete assembly and tear down work.
- Perform repetitive lifting and carrying of components, handling weights in line with job requirements.
- Work overtime as needed to meet production, service, and customer deadlines.
- Collaborate with other technicians, assemblers, and warehouse staff, typically working in pairs to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
Essential Skills
- At least 1+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
- At least 1+ years of assembly experience in a production, industrial, or mechanical environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work with mechanical systems and components.
- Ability to use hand and power tools, including impact and torque tools, safely and effectively.
- Ability to use micrometers and calipers for precise measurement, or willingness to learn and apply these tools quickly.
- Capability to perform repetitive lifting and carrying, including handling weights of 50+ lbs as required by the tasks.
- Experience with mechanical assembly, inspection, and general industrial or production work.
- Ability to follow blueprints, work instructions, and standard work practices with strong attention to detail.
- Commitment to following safety rules, environmental regulations, and using required safety equipment.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed to support operational demands.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with impact, torque, and a variety of hand tools used in mechanical assembly and tear down.
- Experience using pneumatic power tools in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Hydraulics experience or exposure to hydraulic systems is a plus.
- Experience using micrometers and calipers for detailed inspection and measurement is a strong advantage.
- arpentry, machine operation, or general mechanical work that demonstrates hands-on skills.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment; company will provide training and certification for cranes and fork trucks.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality assembly work with strong attention to detail and adherence to standards.
- Comfort working from blueprints and technical drawings in a production or service environment.

Work Environment
This is a climate-controlled manufacturing and shop environment with both heating and cooling, providing a comfortable and consistent workspace. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 …
