Quality Staffing is searching for skilled Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurses to work in an Immediate Care Facility with medically fragile children.
Facility is a private, nonprofit, intermediate Care Facility (ICF/IID) serving a maximum of 22 young children who have severe to profound developmental disabilities and are medically fragile. The facility provides a comprehensive residential program that includes individualized medical, therapeutic, and developmental/educational services. The program is designed to assist children with multiple disabilities and medical fragility to reach their fullest potential. The care includes medical, therapeutic, and educational services provided in an intimate, homelike setting. Staff will manage conditions common among the children, including: Seizure control, Respiratory complications, Oral-motor dysfunction, and Neuromuscular impairments.
All positions are full-time - 36 hours per week, with every other weekend required.
Developmental Disability & Pediatric facility
Location: Raleigh, NC
Shifts Available: Nights: 7:00 pm - 7:00 am, with every other weekend **Overtime is optional and available
All assignments are 13-week contracts with the option to renew or go permanent at the facility
Rate: $35.00/hour = $1,260/weekly
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to children with severe/profound developmental disabilities who are medically fragile.
- Administer medications according to the physician's orders while meeting the 6 rights of medication administration, and administer enteral feedings according to the physicians’ orders.
- Implement and monitor all treatments ordered for each resident by the physician, evaluating the outcomes and documenting as appropriate, as well as implementing the plan of care established for each resident.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing interventions and achievement of the expected outcome for each resident and modify the plan of care as needed.
- Follow the policy and procedures for emergency response if a resident's health status declines.
- Communicate with family members regarding residents’ conditions.
- Monitor the care provided to the residents by the habilitation technicians/CNAs.
- Contribute positively to an interdisciplinary team approach and maintain a family home atmosphere while respecting the dignity and confidentiality of all residents.
- Attend and participate in training and staff meetings as requested by the supervisor/management.
- All other duties as required and requested by the supervisor.
- Upon hire, you must attend a new hire orientation that will be offered from 8am-4pm, during the week.
Credential Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current LPN license in NC or licensed in a compact state
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification
- Flu Vaccine for current season
- Ability to re-position, lift, and transfer residents safely using proper techniques up to 40 pounds unaided, up to 100 pounds aided
- One or more years' experience working with pediatrics and/or ICF/IID is preferred, but not required
- Solid interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skills required.
- Must submit to a thorough pre-employment background check and drug screening.
